Expectations can spin us out. When we get stuck in our heads about what we expect, the enemy lies to us about our spouse.
We get in trouble when our expectations are:
Unknown-We may not be aware of the expectations we have, but we all have them. Even if we feel we do not, we have expectations about others having expectations.
Unreasonable-Sometimes we feel we would like things a certain way, but just because that is what we expect doesn't mean, it is reasonable.
Unexpressed-How can our spouse possibly know our expectations if we do not voice them.
This week, the Fields and the Carters are both arguing and it all revolves about our expectations, communication about expectations and the lies we believe about our spouse when we do not voice our expectations and our spouse falls short.
